CONTENT
It contains Sildenafil citrate 50mg & Sildenafil citrate 100mg.
INDICATION
Treatment of erectile dysfunction, which is the inability to achieve or maintain a penile erection sufficient for satisfactory sexual performance.
DOSAGE
Oral
Adult dose
Erectile dysfunction: 25 to 100 mg (50 mg usual dose) 1 hour (range 0.5 to 4 hours) prior to sexual activity; MAX frequency of administration once daily.
Erectile dysfunction: patients on alpha-blockers should be on stable therapy prior to initiating
Sildenafil and Sildenafil should be initiated at the lowest dose (25 mg).
Pediatric dose
Sildenafil is not indicated for use in newborns or children (<18years)
Dose adjustments
• Geriatrics (over 65 years; in erectile dysfunction): initial, 25 mg
• Liver disease (in erectile dysfunction): initial, 25 mg
• Renal impairment (in erectile dysfunction): CrCl less than 30 mL/min, initial, 25 mg
• With Ritonavir (erectile dysfunction): MAX 25 mg every 48 hours
• With alpha blocker therapy (erectile dysfunction): initial, 25 mg, patients must be on stable alpha blocker therapy prior to Sildenafil initiation
SIDE EFFECTS
Common
Dermatologic: Flushing (4%-10%), Rash (2%)
Gastrointestinal: Diarrhea (4%), Indigestion (4%-8%)
Neurologic: Dizziness (2%), Headache (16%)
Ophthalmic: Abnormal vision
Respiratory: Nasal congestion
Serious
Cardiovascular: Myocardial infarction (rare)
Ophthalmic: Non-arteritic ischemic optic neuropathy
Otic: Decreased hearing, Sudden onset (less than 2%), Sudden hearing loss (less than 2%)
Reproductive: Priapism (rare)
Respiratory: Pulmonary hemorrhage
